Music
We provide a wide variety of opportunities for students to learn and develop in the area of music; including classroom music, private lessons, choir and instrumental groups.
-
Our elementary music program offers classroom music instruction from Kindergarten – 5th grade. We teach students to read, create, and perform music both alone and with others to the best of their ability and to the glory of God.
-
Our program offers instruction at all levels and welcomes those who are new to music as well as those who have been refining their talents for many years. Our teachers strive with every lesson to help every student excel in his/her God-given talents. We offer private lessons in piano, beginning guitar, flute, violin as well as other instruments.
-
The two bands each represent a graduated level of training.
The Elementary Band offers elementary students in 4th and 5th grade an opportunity to play one of the basic instruments of the woodwind, brass or percussion family. No prior knowledge of music is required.
The Middle School Band is a continuation of the Elementary Band and offers more opportunity for performances and training for 5th – 8th grade.
-
Students have the opportunity to perform in an organized choir beginning in grade 6 through their senior year of high school. Each choir performs in special programs throughout the school year. The Junior High choir consists of students in 6th – 8th grade and the Senior High choir is composed of students in 9th – 12th grade.
-
The Proclaimers are an auditioned group of students. They are our “select” group who have many special performance opportunities throughout the year. These students must be in 9th – 12th grade.
Visual Art
Our art programs start in Kindergarten and span all the way up to secondary. Whether it’s painting, drawing, or sculpture, we attempt to create in the image of the One who created us.
-
The elementary art program exposes students to a wide variety of mediums and techniques. This allows children to express themselves via color, pattern, and texture in a hands on way.
-
Students in middle school and secondary have the option to continue taking art classes. Students will have the opportunity to refine techniques and learn how to create art to the glory of God.
-
From thread to fabric, students in this class get to create using fibers. Needlepoint, knitting, sewing, and more are just a few mediums students will learn.
Performing Art
Drama is an exciting way to explore and develop confidence and creativity! Students will learn theatrical skills like character development, stage presence, projection, enunciation, and memorization. We strive for excellence while working together as a team to glorify God and share His love.
We believe that God can use the art of storytelling and theater to reveal the truth about who He is, who we are, and how we should live in light of His Truth. Our Drama Department provides opportunities for high school students to strive for excellence as they learn about various aspects of drama and theater.
A major performance each year is our full-length Spring Production. Students also participate in preschool chapel programs, dramatic skits, ministry opportunities, and trips to local theatrical performances.
